Secure Data Destruction With the Right Level of Assurance
Bioteknik securely processes data-bearing IT equipment for businesses, schools, councils and other organisations across London, Kent and the South East. Choose a straightforward certified service or a deeper audited process with device-level evidence, depending on your policy, risk and reporting requirements.
Secure collection • Serial-number tracking • Certified processing • Enhanced audit options

Protect Data
Match the sanitisation or destruction method to the storage technology and project requirement.
Make the Right Decision
Select the method and reporting depth that fits your policy, risk and evidence needs.
Recover Value
Where policy allows, verified erasure can preserve reusable equipment and residual value.
Recycle Responsibly
Non-reusable assets move to responsible material recovery after data security has been addressed.
What level of evidence do you need?
Standard Assurance
For routine business IT retirement where a clear audit trail and certificate are required without full per-device exported wipe logs.
Typical outputs:
-
Data-bearing assets identified and tracked
-
Serial numbers recorded as agreed
-
Appropriate data-erasure or destruction process
-
Certificate of Data Destruction
-
Waste documentation where applicable
-
Equipment routed to reuse, component recovery or recycling
Enhanced Assurance
For higher-risk environments, regulated projects or organisations requiring deeper device-level evidence.
Typical outputs:
-
Full asset audit
-
Serial-number register
-
Chain-of-custody records
-
Device-level erasure records for supported software processes
-
Degauss audit records for supported media
-
Destruction-point scanning or method record
-
Certificate of Data Destruction
-
Tailored project reporting
Onsite destruction is available as a separate pathway where equipment or media must be processed at your location.
The Bioteknik Assurance Pyramid
Choose the level of documentation and audit evidence that matches your organisation’s policy, risk and reporting requirements.
Level 1 — Certified Processing
For routine secure IT retirement where a clear, certified process is required.
Typical outputs:
• Serial-number tracking to the agreed scope
• Secure processing matched to the media
• Certificate of Data Destruction
Level 2 — Audited Processing
For projects requiring stronger chain-of-custody records and clearer visibility of the processing method.
Typical outputs:
• Asset register
• Processing method recorded
• Before/after scan or destruction-point audit where specified
• Certificate and supporting documentation
Level 3 — Full Device-Level Evidence
For high-assurance projects requiring the deepest available device-level record and detailed completion reporting.
Typical outputs:
• Full asset audit
• Per-device erasure output where supported
• Degauss records where supported
• SMART or verification information where relevant
• Detailed completion report
Choose the right destruction method
Different storage technologies and project requirements need different methods. The right choice depends on the media, required evidence and whether reuse remains possible.

Secure Software Erasure
Best suited to reusable drives and devices where policy allows data sanitisation rather than physical destruction. This can preserve equipment for reuse and residual value where verification requirements can be met.

Degaussing
Best suited to magnetic hard disk media requiring rapid, irreversible sanitisation. Degaussing is not suitable for SSD, NVMe or flash storage.

Physical Destruction
Best suited where policy or risk requires storage media to be physically destroyed. Evidence is provided through the agreed audit record and certificate rather than a software wipe log.

Mobile / Tablet Secure Reset
Best suited to encrypted phones and tablets where a verified factory reset is appropriate. iCloud, Google, MDM and enrolment locks must be removed to preserve reuse.
How the process works
From defining the requirement to final reporting, each project follows a controlled process tailored to the equipment, risk and evidence needed.
1. Define Requirement
Confirm the equipment, risk, processing method and evidence required.
2. Secure Collection
Collect the equipment using the agreed access plan and documentation.
3. Audit & Identify
Identify data-bearing assets and record serial numbers to the agreed scope.
4. Process & Verify
Apply the selected method and complete the appropriate verification or audit record.
5. Report & Route
Provide the agreed reporting, then route equipment to reuse, recovery or recycling.
What you receive
Every project includes clear completion documentation, with the depth of audit evidence matched to the agreed scope, processing method and reporting requirement.
1. Asset & Chain-of-Custody Records
Depending on the agreed scope, this may include an asset register, serial-number records and collection or chain-of-custody documentation.
2. Processing & Verification Evidence
Method records, device-level erasure output where supported, degauss records, verification information or a destruction-point audit where specified.
3. Certificates & Completion Reporting
A Certificate of Data Destruction, applicable waste documentation and a tailored completion report matched to the project.
Secure does not always have to mean shredded
Where policy allows, verified erasure can protect data while preserving equipment for reuse and residual value. Where destruction is required, the media can be physically processed and the remaining materials routed responsibly.
Verified Erasure for Reuse
Where policy permits and verification requirements can be met, erasure protects data while keeping usable equipment in service.
Physical Destruction When Required
Where policy, contract or risk requires it, storage media can be physically destroyed with the agreed audit evidence.
The Right Outcome
After data security is addressed, equipment is routed to reuse, component recovery or recycling according to its condition and the project requirement.
Need the media processed before it leaves your site?
Processed at Your Location
Onsite destruction is available where storage media must be processed before leaving your premises.
Witnessed Where Required
The agreed process can be witnessed by authorised staff where policy, risk or project requirements call for it
Evidence Matched to the Project
Asset records, method documentation and certification are provided according to the agreed onsite scope.
Data destruction and device offboarding are separate tasks
Management & Account Locks
Remove Intune, Windows Autopilot, Apple Business Manager, Jamf, Samsung Knox, Google and iCloud controls before collection where applicable.
Data Security Is Not Device Release
Secure erasure or reset addresses stored data, but management and activation locks can still prevent equipment from being reused.
Avoid Delays and Extra Administration
Complete offboarding before collection. An additional £10 per device may apply where locks create extra administration.
