Before laptops leave your organisation

Remove laptops from Intune, Autopilot, Apple Business Manager, Google Admin, Jamf or other management platforms where applicable. Remove activation locks, organisation accounts, BIOS passwords and firmware controls where practical before collection. Provide an existing asset list with make, model, serial number and asset tag where available if you want it reconciled against the collection. Keep matching chargers, docks and power adapters with reusable laptops where practical. Identify swollen batteries, impact-damaged devices or laptops requiring special handling before the collection date.

Do you collect working and non-working laptops?

Yes. Mixed-condition business laptop estates can be collected. Working and repairable units are assessed for reuse; devices that are not viable for reuse follow the appropriate recovery or recycling route.

Can laptop recycling collections be free?

Often, where the quantity, location and recoverable equipment make the collection commercially viable. Smaller, difficult-access or specialist projects may require a service or collection charge.

How is data removed from SSD-based laptops?

The method depends on the storage technology and assurance requirement. SSD and NVMe media require suitable sanitisation methods rather than relying on processes intended for magnetic hard drives.

Will every laptop be physically destroyed?

No. Whole-device destruction is normally unnecessary where secure sanitisation and controlled reuse are appropriate. Physical destruction is available where the project requires it.

Can newer laptops generate a rebate?

Potentially. Value depends on model, generation, specification, condition, battery state, management status, market demand and the costs of the project. Assessment and grading determine the final outcome.
