Environment Agency waste carrier registration

T11 WEEE repair and refurbishment exemption

Standards, regulations and guidance we work to
These references inform procedures where relevant and are not presented as certifications held by Bioteknik.
NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 2 — Guidelines for Media Sanitization
Referenced when designing media-sanitisation policy, method selection, validation and evidence around data-bearing assets. Revision 2 was published in September 2025 and supersedes Rev. 1. It focuses on establishing a media-sanitisation programme and selecting controls that are appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. Guidance referenced — not a Bioteknik certification.
NCSC — Secure Sanitisation and Disposal of Storage Media
Referenced for secure re-use, sale, repair and disposal of electronic storage media, including erasure, degaussing and physical destruction considerations. The published guidance is proportionate to OFFICIAL information. Separate NCSC guidance applies where media has handled SECRET or above. Guidance referenced — not a Bioteknik certification.
UK GDPR / ICO secure disposal expectations
Referenced for secure disposal controls including wiping, degaussing, hardware destruction, secure holding areas, disposal logs and destruction certificates. These controls support accountability and security obligations under UK data-protection law. They are operational expectations rather than a separate certification scheme. Regulatory guidance referenced — not a Bioteknik certification.
Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations 2013, as amended
The legal and operational framework relevant to the recovery, reuse and recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment in the UK. The WEEE Regulations 2013 remain the underpinning legislation and were amended by the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (Amendment, etc.) Regulations 2025. Legal framework followed where applicable — not a certification.
Project-specific evidence
Depending on the agreed service level, project evidence can include asset records, Waste Transfer Notes, Certificates of Data Destruction, erasure logs, degauss records and exception reporting.
